  1. I’m reading Grendel right now by John Gardner. This reads like Grendel staring at the clans of Danes from atop his hill. He stares at them, watches them constantly realized he and the Danes define themselves. They reach their glory through his presence and he, well the Danes give him something to do.

    This reminds me of that.

    such a strong, but rarely described feeling.
